Title: Collection Agency call
Post by: RedPost on July 23, 2013, 05:49:57 PM
I got on my phone what I believe to be my first collection agency call regarding my Getty issue. I can't say that for certain, I got a call, they left no message, and when I googled the number it came up as Primary Financial Services out of Arizona.  From reading about them they appear to be a pretty nasty and rude collection agency.  Since I have no outstanding debts to be collected, I can only assume this is Getty's "Escalation" as the timing would be about right 4 months after my last correspondence with them.

Since I never signed for any debt, I know i have some rights through the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act, can someone give me a rundown of how best to handle the collection agency and what I need to say to them if in fact they are the ones attempting to come after me.

Have never heard of these asshats before, but regardless, if it is in regards to getty, you simply tell them, that this is a claim, not a debt, and to NEVER call you again or you will report them..then do just that if they continue to call..I would go so far as to report them every time they do call, as they will get fined based on the number of complaints. Chances are good they will just toss it back to getty, rather than risk a bad report. over a claim.
