Seeking part-time independent contractor support to supplement an in-house team of attorneys, servicing a fast-paced sales office, with the following experience/qualifications:
Three or more years of law firm experience in IP licensing and other general commercial matters;
Previous in-house counsel experience advising business clients, preferably with respect to IP-focused products and services;
Prior knowledge and experience negotiating and drafting copyright license agreements, with an excellent attention to detail;
Music licensing experience helpful, but not required;
Organized, able to deal with high volumes of ongoing projects on tight deadlines;
Able to perform complex tasks with minimal direction and/or supervision;
Solutions-oriented, self-starter who works well with others;
Personable, low-maintenance, sense of humor a plus.
This is a great opportunity to work with a small, collegial legal team in a dynamic environment.
I've highlighted the rather amusing parts..
"attention to detail"?? - "Collect us Money"
"high volumes of on-going "projects" = able to send out lots of letters!
"works well with others" = drink from the collective kool-aid urn
"sense of humor a plus" = cause being a copyright collection clerk is a sucky job
"dynamic environment" = you'll be completely burnt out in 6 months to a year

Great posting.
"team of attorneys"... "fast paced sales office"?
Attorneys..? selling... something?

Sorry Oscar, you're over qualified, there aren't many that fall into the same category as Timothy B. Mccormack..
Sent them my resume, I still haven't heard from them!

Robert, do they mention compensation? I'm curious how much it pays to sink your reputation to the bottom.
Also, do they have a tagline at the bottom of the listing that reads "Equal Opportunity Extortionists"?

I wish that somebody in the area would apply for the job, attend an interview while wearing a hidden camera.
You have no idea what I'd give to see that on ELI.
