Hi
I deleted all images from my server around 18 months ago, I've no idea if any of them were Gettys or not.
I have read about them checking Wayback Machine but I wondered if I can relax a bit if they haven't been on my server for that length of time?

Sorry, they are coming at me for a website version which hasn't been live for 2 years (and was incorrectly uploaded anyway by a third party).

If you had less than 5 images, they probably won't come after you legally aside from the nasty letters. However, that is a broad generalization and could change if they want to pursue RIAA tactics. There is no indication of that currently but that can change at any time without notice or warning.

You should be aware that generally the statute of limitations is 3 years on copyright infringement. Certainly you seem to be in a good zone if you have removed them over 18 months ago but there are no guarantees. And like the other poster commented, we represent many individuals who received letters for sites that never went "live."

How many years is it in the UK?

I used the Professional Contractors Group (PCG+) legal helpline in the UK and was told that my situation (the website/images that Getty refer to was taken off the air mid-2008) is easily within the period that they can come back to address this. I was given the impression it could be at least 5 years.
