Title: Oscar Letter Program
Post by: rd on November 11, 2011, 05:12:41 PM
Just 1 question.

After paying the fee of $195, How soon do I get to tell GI
"I have a legal counsel now. Please address all issues to Oscar Michelen"?

Right away?
Does anyone know?

If you have retained Oscar, I think it would be safe to tell Getty verbally, that you have retained counsel at any time.. They are well aware of who he is. Not to say they won't contact you again, because legally they can, until they get something from the lawyer himself..

Oscar is well-known by most of the stock photo companies.

Until they officially hear from Oscar, they can still technically contact you. However, it will likely make them temporarily stop once you inform them Oscar has been hired. Thus far, the stock photo companies have been careful in their approach. They will probably give it some time for Oscar's letter to show up.

And even if it doesn't show up right away, it isn't like receiving another letter will kill anyone although it will likely create stress for many.

The letter is generated within 48 hours normally and when they get it they have to stop communication with you  immediately.
