About 1 year ago we got a letter from Getty Images. We found in Internet that a lot of people have gotten the same letter and more than half of them decided to ignore it. Furthermore our “total due” is just $850.00 (less than the usual 2000-6000). Now we got letter titled “Notification of case escalation”.
“Our Company” is S-corporation.
For now we are preparing documents to close “Our Company” (for other reasons).
Will it resolve the problem with Getty Images or not? My wife, actually, is the owner of “Our Company”. Will that problem carry over to her or not?
Another thing is that I don’t want to lose the domain of our company. It's just that it has taken 8 years to promote this domain.
I plan to open a new Corp and transfer all rights for this domain to new company.
What do you think about this situation?

This is not that simple a question and cannot be answered in this forum. Every state has different laws about how to dissolve a corporation. In some states, dissolving a corporation while there is an existing claim can expose the owner to personal liability. You should contact a business lawyer in your state to see if the Getty letter amounts to a claim that could expose your wife to liability if you dissolve the company.
