Title: Email from BWP Media/Pacific Coast News
Post by: PeteGas on June 07, 2017, 11:03:46 AM
I'm seeking advice here.  I am in the UK and have received an email from BWP Media/Pacific Coast News.  I run a movie blog and had hosted an image from the upcoming Dunkirk movie.

The email is threatening to sue unless I pay $1,500 through mail or logging into imageprotect.com and paying by VISA.

Another problem is that even though I have deleted the image, the URL for the thumb is still working, it's also still on WayBackMachine and Google images.

At this point I'm starting to think I should delete the entire site and remove all my savings from the bank.

What should I do?

Spend some time reading this forum and get educated.  Learn how the trolling business works.  There is no one answer.  There is no perfect solution.  You have to live with the tradeoffs of whatever approach you take.  Don't be driven by any false deadlines they give you.  And don't communicate with them until you have formulated your strategy.  Right now they may not even be certain that they have reached you.
