After discovering that multiple websites had used one of his photos without permission, photographer Jay Lee began sending out DMCA takedown notifications to web hosts in an attempt to protect his copyright. One of the websites was owned by a woman named Candice Schwager, who had 14 of her sites temporarily taken offline as a result of the takedown request. Turns out Schwager is involved in both helping represent special needs children and helping a man named Louis Guthrie get elected as County Sheriff. This is where the story gets weird.

This is the bad thing with hosting with go-daddy, they make up their own rules in regards to DMCA...

There's an interesting article in Newsweek entitled "Is the Web Driving Us Mad?" I thought of this article while reading Robert's post above about the very odd behavior of two adults.
Between copyright extortionists, endless streams of bad news, 24-7 work hours, interactive games that have no ending, and so on... I tend to agree that the web may have some dangerous consequences for many people, particularly young people who have grown up with it.
Anyway, this article makes for interesting reading at

Thanks for posting that Robert, that is a very bizarre story. It almost sounds like they were both trying to emulate Linda Ellis ::)

Pretty interesting stuff.
I think that there were some going's behind the scenes before this woman's sites were taken down. We're talking politics here.
She was already on the edge, and the DMCA notice simply released the Krakken.
Getty, Masterfile and several others put quite a bit of stress on people.
I'm surprised that somebody hasn't gone off the "deep end" on those guys.
Maybe it's just a matter of time?
