Hi,

I'm a newbie on the site. I received a demand letter from Getty regarding a picture on a website I no longer used.  I ended up responding via email to the letter offering $100.  However, they then referred me to a calculator that they use and said to use that and give us another number. 

Honestly, I think this is a bunch of bull and don't want to pay them a dime.  What should I do?  If I do pay, I'm assuming I will get something in writing preventing future claims.  Has anyone posted a copy of this?

read forum. get educated. They now know they have a "live one" since you emailed them..I would put a stop to that immediately, what they would charge and what the image is worth are 2 different things..thats why they sell hardly any images anymore...who the hell would pay 800.00 for a picture odf a friggin cactus?

I am also very interested in this calculator, unless you are referring to the "View Licensing Options" button next to the images that gives you the "Retail" price of the image.

Underneath every Getty Image is a calculator icon that allows you to see what Getty would charge you for the image depending on the resolution and intended use plus length of use.
