Pot meet Kettle!What I find amusing in all of this is that in Dagmar Fabricius Twitter link in the post above she is mentioning and providing a link to a copy of Microsoft office available at The Pirate Bay. I recognized the site from the recent posts SG has made in regards to one of the founders of the site being arrested.

Randy,
As Matthew said welcome to the ELI forums although, it is generally not a good thing when the attention of the ELI community is turned on to someone we consider actively participating in trolling. I think you'll find that once we start digging it generally does not take long until we find the information we are looking for and other letter recipients start to come forward once you start appearing in the search engine results.
I have some recommended reading for you to help acquaint you with the ELI community. Search the site for threads about Julie Stewart, Jennifer Sherrouse, Linda Ellis and of course Timmy (Timothy B McCormack).
So I'll be looking forward to learning more about yourself, Dan B Levine and the Copyright Defense League over the next several days as we research your company and again welcome to the ELI forms.

I love the EFF! Ever since I became involved with the extortion letter BS and started researching everything I found out about them and had a great deal of respect for them. But when they jumped in on the side of The Oatmeal I have freaking love them 
$150K is a wet dream. This is one of these deals where EFF needs to get involved.I have scanned over the lawsuits and it looks like they go right for the throat asking for the full $150,000 per infringement plus court and legal fees. We will definitely have to follow these cases and see how they play out. Thank you for sharing these!

It always burns me in these letters how they accuse you of manipulating the images to remove copyright information, watermarks or other identifying marks. While in almost every single case a simple search for the image will reveal it on free sites in multiple places. Hopefully people will start filing bar complaints for the language and tone of these letters much as they did to good old Timmy that made him change his ways and produce his new kinder gentler letter.

I completely agree with Robert, Getty will more than likely cut you out of the loop and continued to harass your clients. The best way to arrange it so that Getty cannot contact them or harass them is to go through Oscar's defense letter program.
Unfortunately Getty does not care about the particulars of how an image arrived on a website this is nothing more than a business model for them and the only thing they are interested in is the money.

I agree, and I got a good chuckle when I found the article as well. If you think about it the trolls have really been taking a beating lately not only in decisions and rulings but also in countersuits being filed.

I would say that the undoubted king of the bogus titles right now has got to be John "Jackass" Jolin. But that would be interesting to have a list of what their title is this week in each demand letter that they send out
That's "Agent" Randy Taylor...be sure to get the made up title correct, pretty soon I'll have to create a thread of on-going bogus titles to go with the on-going list of trolls..We have acquired a copy of the Copyright Defense League's Settlement Agreement & Release Posted signed by Randy Taylor.
