as already mentioned 99.9% of images found on google are protected by copyright, the only ones "free" to use would be images in the public domain. Neither copyright registration, or a "watermark" are required to afford this protection. Negotiating with Higbee or the artist would not end well, especially if you stated the image came from google, that pretty much admitting to infringement, and ignorance is not a valid defense. If it were me I would lay low and wait it out. IF and thats a big IF they decide to file suit, you can then maybe "turn the tables" on them.

search for the photographers name.. I would not contact Higbee of the artist until you get more facts under your belt.. Higbee will likely get paid a percentage of the demand, but the artist may not be willing to budge either....if you grabbed the image from a "google search", be sure to go through your site and remove any other images you may have obtained without a license, lest you get more letters fro other trolls..

I can vouch first hand that MYWebGrocer is fully aware of the blog voices of jupiter florida.com, they are also fully aware of other events that took place including that Joel has hired on Higbee and Associates to send out their dirty demand letters.. MWG is also aware of the entire ISTOCK photo situation that was uncovered by a letter recipient.

Filing a declaratory lawsuit is a good idea to fight back threats if one has the funds and the where with all to follow through, which many don't.. Another tactic if you recieved a letter from Adlife and or Higbee , would be to enter a motion to intervene in the MyWebGrocer case. Anyone that received a letter certainly has a vested interest in the outcome of this case, and are thereby offered the opportunity and have the right to file this motion, which can be done for a relatively low cost, or even by oneself, with no fees..It just has to be done properly in order to be accepted into the court record. This counter-attack would likely stop Higbee in his tracks, while this case grinds its' way to a solution.

I wonder if Jack W. Pirozzolo , Esq. ,Kenyon D. Colli , Esq. , of Sidley Austin LLP  and Gregory P. Howard , Esq. of Donovan & O'Connor, LLP know about the blog "voices of jupiter florida .com" and that their "Client" Joel Albrizio is the person behind it, pretending to be a woman, making borderline defamatory posts... If they are a well respected law firm, one would think they may not like this behavior very much...I suspect its only a matter of time before it all become very clear to them who they are dealing with.

Mathew Higbee needs an English tutor..

"this is a single owner or closely help LLC and".....

He could at least use a basic spell checker for.. this emal really makes Mathew Higbee look like a moron, no wonder nobody takes him seriously.

I'm also curious whether Joel Albrizio disclosed to Mathew Higbee the fact that the vast majority of Adlife "infringements" are from folks who properly licensed the images through Istock or Creative Outlet / Ad Builder.

Probably not is my best guess, time will tell if Higbee and Associates really want to be tied to the dirt bags at Adlife, which will further hurt their reputation..not that it would matter much at this point..

Lets not forget also, that Joel Albrizio aka Jessica Langston has made this personal with me, by dragging my family and friends into this ..I have not forgotten about this, nor is it going to go unaddressed..

Not trying to dissuade you, it may or may not be a coincidence, Craig Sanders is admitted in NY & CA, but I find no record of an office for them on the west coast.

Sanders Law is well known here, as is Higbee, but they are completely different entities as far as we know.... Why Sanders would be sending letters from Cali is kinda strange, it's also strange that you got a letter from BOTH...are they in regards to the same image?

I can pretty much guarantee there will be many more letters appearing from Highbee/Adlife.. Joel Albrizio, and Sharon Ferretti are now seemingly sleeping with Mathew Higbee.. Is Mathew Higbee aware that his client pretends to be a women ( Jessica Langston ) and is responsible for all of the BS lies posted on Voices of Jupiter Florida .com? Does Mathew Higbee want to be associated with such a person?...He probably doesn't know about VOJF yet, and probably doesn't care, his reputation is quickly going down the toilet along with Adlifes Jel Albrizio and Sharon Ferretti... at the end of the day they are all whores...money whores that is, driven by greed.. In the coming weeks there will be much said of this new development now that the ELI community has been made aware of this.. It's also worth noting that TechDirt has already written about Higbee in the past, there is most likely a follow up story coming soon.

However when I went to the   website  https://lexmachina.com/  I can't find such a list.  So I Googled:  Lex Machina most active copyright litigation 2016, nothing pops up except for Highbee's press release. 

I think this really is advertising to scare up business for his copyright extortion operation

The Bar association may see this as false advertising, which would also be a violation of the codes of conduct..
