Ivan KOPAS may be an unfamiliar name – but his music has moved the hearts and souls of many; and quite possibly rattled a few windows for good measure. Ivan has produced and co-produced a wide variety of projects over the years; starting with Crazy Ivan’s “Mozart’s Revenge” – which was his first relatively successful record, to production work for blockbuster artists ranging from Gloria Estefan to Korn.

Must not have been to successful, since he decided to become a troll of the lowest form..

Well you may be right, and I can just about guarantee that picscout is pounding their server as I type this..tomorrow I'll see what I can dig up on the newest copyright trolls Jeffrey Kominsky & Ivan Kopas that are trying to extort money from unsuspecting victims..

I happen to know a nifty little trick that will send Picsout running thru ther hosting acount, searching out images and sucking up bandwidth...that would besomething if they themselve got a letter from Istock aka Getty images for copyright infringement..

As a side note, they have multiple locations as well...

Once again I see they have a long list of "Practice Areas"
Personal Injury, General Liability, Labor and Employment Law, Medical Malpractice & Health Law, Maritime Law, Civil Rights Litigation, Marital and Family Law, International Law, Appellate Practice.

Might as well add Intellectual property to the list of items to "Practice", after all practice makes perfect and you have to start somewhere..

Mr. Kominsky practices civil litigation, focusing upon commercial litigation and general liability....hmmm does copyright infringement fall under "commercial litigation"? Just say'in

ahhh, heres the answer!
Mr. Kopas' primary areas of practice are Commercial Litigation, Telecommunications Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation. In his Intellectual Property practice, Mr. Kopas has served as trial attorney in complex trademark infringement, false advertising and copyright infringement cases....

but the real kicker is this:

As a former record producer and songwriter for numerous national and independent record companies and recording artists, Mr. Kopas' experience gives him a unique perspective on the intellectual property rights of his clients.

I wonder how proud Nova Southeastern University would be, knowing one of their own has resorted to twisting and abusing the legal system, to put a few dollars in his pocket
I also wonder if he knows Brandon Sand from the music and entertainment business

Keep in mind it's not just "this image" there are dozens if not more of his oimages all over the web, and yes I strongly feel he is guilty to some degree of seeding these images and not trying to stop it...this is a very good post, the more of this we can gather the better it will be for those how go to court to fight this..A judge would be very interested to see this..Clearly this ass hat Vincent K Tylor is not making money being a faux-tographer, as he has resulted to underhanded scummy extortion tactics, he might consider rejoing the Jehovahs Witness Program, cause one day karma is going to bite him in the ass and he'll be looking for some sort of salvation...

did i just read, the sire made no money? zero, nada, nil?? and was for a volunteer org, or non-profit?? If so I would refer them to the video of the CEO Jonathan Klien stating"...Getty doesn't mind people using their images, if their is no money involved...." that "may" make them backtrack, or at the very least, put them in an uncomfortable position. You could also re-iterate the fact that they did not supply you proof of anything, and they are just "claiming" they have exclusive license, much the same they are "claiming" you owe them money..welcome to the merry go round..fight on your terms not theirs, turn it around on them.

Perfect 10 lost a similar lawsuit against Google several years ago when it was determined that their notices were not sufficiently detailed. However, in this case, Perfect 10 has filed in the 2nd Circuit rather than the 9th, where the courts may have a looser interpretation of DMCA requirements.

Perfect 10 alleges in its lawsuit that it sent Tumblr a total of six Digital Millennium Copyright Act takedown notices regarding more than 200 allegedly infringing images. Perfect 10 says that Tumblr has "failed to completely process any of Perfect 10's DMCA notices, taking down at most only a handful of the over 200 infringing images."

A jury has found that Google infringed Oracle's Java copyrights in Android but could not decide unanimously if the infringement was protected by "fair use."

The jury's verdict, delivered Monday after a week of deliberation, is a partial victory for Oracle in its lawsuit against Google, but Oracle will have to wait longer -- possibly for a retrial -- to see whether Google will escape liability with its claim of fair use.

Hawaiian Letters & Lawsuits Forum / Vincent K Tylor Tuesday!
« on: May 08, 2012, 11:02:11 AM »
Seems Vincent K. Tylor seems to have an issue with folks using his photos as subject matter for their paintings, I'm not going to get into the copyright aspect of it, but what I find absurd is the fact that he does not want anyone painting his images, yet Hawaiian Art network and Vincent K Tylor have no problem seeding his images to 100's of sites for free download..

It's a very old post, but it shows he's been an ass-hat for a long time..

Then there is this little gem which gives sheds a little light om the inner working of Vincent K Tylor.. ( be warned it is very lenghty)

“It would seem that everything that Righthaven and its parade of idiots touch turns to garbage,” said Las Vegas attorney Marc Randazza, whose firm is trying to recover legal fees after beating back a Righthaven lawsuit on behalf of a client.

This comes as no surprise, they need to go after the big fish...

It’s finally happened. In a case with big implications for the booming market in photo-sharing, a publisher is suing popular blogging site Tumblr for copyright infringement.

In a complaint filed Friday in Manhattan, Perfect 10 claims Tumblr failed to remove unauthorized photos posted by its users. The company, which sells nude model photographs through a magazine and website, says Tumblr not only turned a blind eye to copyright infringement but that its staff uploaded images themselves to jumpstart the business.

@Matthew, I really appreciate this, it's nice to know you and the community would have my back..I'm high hanging fruit, I suspect the trolls probably don't like me to much, not to mention the lawyers they retain..For what it's worth, the letter I received was dated May 7, 2009, which by my calculations, gives them a few hours to file suit, and it's sunday so I think it's safe for me to say that Getty Images and their trolls can kiss my big white hairy ass!!... I would imagine they will read this and probably release a sigh of relief knowing I will be out of their hair...but au contraire, I'm not going anywhere, I'll still fight for the cause and continue to throw these ass-hats under at the bus!

I think it would be quite stupid to go after an ELI Defense Team Member. We take care of our own.

Sort of like how some lawyers threatened to go after Oscar last year for making a public stand against them. I was prepared to set off some serious fireworks with the Bar Associations, AVVO, Google, etc. against those lawyers should that have happened.

Fortunately, they knew to back down when they realized they were in a bad position.

Hence, going after Buddhapi would get so much attention against whomever had that job of coming after him, it would be a life mission to put them down. It would be a mistake they would live to regret.
