Another case was just filed, the plaintiff is Ryan McGinnis and his attorney is Carolyn Wright, they have worked together before as mentioned in this post:

Getty Images generally do contact the domain owner, and I'm surprised they did not in this case, although your contact info was apparently on the site. If the company was dissolved before their letter, they would be hard pressed to get anything IMHO

Welcome to the forum! Glad to see you've done some homework, you're on the right track in your plan and thinking.. Generally speaking Getty goes after the domain owner, doesn't matter if it a business a personal site, or a charity...rest assured your 50.00 check will be returned. I'm not sure NCS can even contact you, if you are in Canada, but if they could I would not block there calls/emails, I would keep a record of every instance, also keep a record of Getty not accepting your fair offer. You might consider getting screen captures of the other similar images and their pricing, just to have in case.. I highly doubt it will go to court, but one never knows.

Las Vegas casinos and bars are fighting back against what some attorneys say is an abusive trademark lawsuit involving karaoke performances.

The Las Vegas lawsuit involves Slep-Tone Entertainment Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., which regularly sues bars and karaoke jockeys around the country.

The suits allege the jockeys have unlawfully copied Slep-Tone’s karaoke accompaniment tracks playing songs and displaying lyrics.

'Hunger Games' Studio Sends Lawyer Letter to Charity Using 'Hunger Is Not a Game' Slogan...

"Lionsgate has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Harry Potter Alliance's Imagine Better Project over the charitable campaign, "Hunger is not a game." The studio believes that the group, which is supporting Oxfam’s GROW food sustainability project, is "piggybacking off of" the marketing for its latest box-office hit The Hunger Games."

For anyone who might be curious, my attention has been temporarily turned away to a public Hollywood extortion case relating to the "Bachelor" TV series. I am running the PR campaign to stop the lawsuit. However, I am still doing ELI support calls for people who need help.

Cendali, who signed on to represent Righthaven in a couple of cases last year as it struggled to beat back challenges to its lawsuits, hasn’t been heard from in months in relation to Righthaven.

Her name finally came up last week when a Righthaven appeal for which she is listed as one of the Righthaven attorneys of record was dismissed by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals because Righthaven missed deadlines to file the required opening brief.
