alan, welcome to the forum.

If you get as fed up as many of us here with Getty's mass mail money printing program, don't be afraid to tell your story on video to Jerry Witt(mcfilms) who is considering doing a documentary on this colossal waste of human activity and brain power.

Maybe if we make enough people aware of the injustice, including clients of Getty's like Microsoft, someone will find the legal line on the class action suit to make this all go away.

The only thing that could have made those letters better, Lucia would be to decorate them with some of the memes and troll images circulating on this site.  But you probably couldn't have done that back then, because they did not exist.

I am not sure what they will do - but if I had to bet, I would suggest that they will keep pestering you, because to them - it's only about the money.

Either way, let us know what they do.  If they pursue you, keep this dialog open and you will get lots of advice on things to consider, before deciding what your strategy will be.

I don't understand why you guys get all this extra attention.  My case began with a letter from one of Timothy McCormack's underlings.  Nothing from Getty or a bill collector.  Is that a bad omen?

I too would like to see that, but am afraid that many of the media image companies have too much clout with the networks and Hollywood. 

That would be the kind of message that might get some real changes started.

I am all "in" for telling my story of the company that seeds the market with "free" images distributed through their own web site, then covers their tracks, waits a few years and begins extorting those who were taken in for prices that are "Orders of magnitude" larger that the going rate for similar images.

Where/how do we begin?

The last week or so has provided a lot of momentum on this site aimed at getting the word out about what we've been dealing with what with:

• April's activities with the Dash poem including blogging about it and getting radio coverage
• The Oatmeal's activities raising money for charity in the name of truth, honor, and all things non-troll

It seems to me that this would be a great time to step up the pressure and make those parts of the world we touch aware of the "troll problem" before it hits them square in the face.

Let me start by adding my blog post aimed at over 35,000 business people to the equation.
