RedBaron123 - Just read your post, IGNORE THEM. I had the same letter last year sometime. You will get another couple from them most likely getting a little more threatening but they cannot take you to court as far as I know. Either way I ignored all their letters & they went away so suggest you do too. They are simply con artists.  Hope this helps.

My advice - don't respond at all simple as that. I had 3 letters over the course of about 3 months before Christmas & ignored them all. I haven't heard a thing from them since. Make sure you keep the letters for reference but ignore them. Once you respond & they sink their teeth into you they are much more likely to keep hounding you. Just my advice. They are like little children, ignore them & they find someone else to annoy.

My advice is to completely ignore them. This is the stance I took, I had a total of 3 letter from them each getting more threatening & each one telling me it's my final warning. I ignored all of them & haven't heard anything from them for ages now. They are like little children - ignore them & they will go away.

Hi, I'm in the UK too & would advise ignoring them. You'll most likely get another letter in a few weeks but they will go away eventually. Just keep the documents for your reference.

Greg, I've just been reading through the 13 pages on this topic & just wanted to tell you you're doing an OUTSTANDING job. I'm in the UK, when Getty took over Picscout they also employed some small companies to work for them, basically to send out the letters & chase for the so called money owed. One of these companies is ipprotection.net. The 2 names involved are David Tyler (or Dave as he likes to call himself) and Scott Christian Davis. They have been mentioned on these forums elsewhere. All the research I've done on them has shown them in a bad light as you would expect working along side Getty/Picscout.

I know this isn't directly linked with your case but the more places we get these people named & shamed the better right. Here is the link to their topic on ELI - http://www.extortionletterinfo.com/forum/uk-getty-images-letter-forum/ipprotection-net-letter/

Here is the link which states that Picscout have taken on smaller companies in the UK - http://www.picscout.com/press-releases/picscout-enlarges-legal-partner-program-to-support-image-revenue-recovery-throughout-the-united-kingdom-for-photographer-and-stock-agency-clients.html

Keep up the good work, you inspire me to keep fighting back  :)

I agree 100% with your statement "  THE PROBLEM is that the UK GOVERNMENT will likely get a revenue share  ". The Government always make off these hence why I don't vote, until a real Government step in with some morals then these scams will always go on. Shame, but continue to spread the word where possible as the more people that know the sooner people will automatically take no notice.

Yes sounds like a generic letter like mine, the only piece of information that probably changes on them is the address to send it to. My latest letters have asked for payment within 7 days but they haven't even put the amount I supposedly owe them! The more & more research you do on these companies the more & more confident you feel in just ignoring them. It's extortion at the end of the day & the authorities should step in but it will never happen.

This is the thread I'm involved with just for you info - http://www.extortionletterinfo.com/forum/uk-getty-images-letter-forum/ipprotection-net-letter/

Hi there, I would completely ignore them if I was you. I'm going through something similar with ipprotection.net who work for Getty Images if my research is correct. I would advise you sign this online petition & spread the word about ipprotection.net too as they aren't so well known as Getty - http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/35814

Oh right sorry my mistake. Well the 'manager' of the company is David Tyler or as he likes to sign his name 'Dave' - very professional. His partner is Scott Christian Davis who seems to be the Solicitor/Lawyer in the Dynamic Duo. Scott also runs a company called SCD Consultants Limited which has the same registered address as IPProtection. According to Company House website the Status for SCD Consultants is 'Active-Proposal to Strike off' which isn't good of course. Also the registered address of these 2 companies seems to be just a forwarding address where you can go & collect your mail as 1000's of companies use the same address. One last thing, all our letters have come via 2nd Class Mail. Surely if you were a serious company you would send the letters via a Recorded Service as proof of receipt? My advice in these situations is to just ignore them which is what I've been doing.

Finally I have found this link on another post which I urge EVERYONE to sign - http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/35814

Yes that's a very interesting article. So are they legit then? I've been ignoring them so far but not sure what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, We are currently experiencing the same as you with regards to this company. I have done some research on the 2 owners which brings up some interesting reading regarding another company they run SCD Consultants with Company House status on them reading as ' Proposal to Strike off '. Also I noticed on their letters the address they give as their Registered Business address seems to be a Mail Forwarding Service Address. After doing more research this address seems to be just a place where you pick up your mail from as 1000's of companies use it. We are fighting this company & would be very interested what your PM message said. PM me yourself if you know anymore on this 'company'!!. Thanks.
