Matthew Chan & Oscar Michelen explain ELI’s use of the word “extortion” and phrases “extortion letters” and “legalized extortion”. ELI was faced with accusations of defamation from newbie copyright lawyers that were offended that their names and settlement demand letters were being reported in connection with our website and phrases using the word “extortion”. November 18, 2011 ELI Video Update #3

Matthew Chan & Oscar Michelen discuss the mistakes newbie lawyers make and how they react when negative spotlight is on them. ELI & the ELI Forum was attacked with false accusations of defamation & illegitimate DMCA complaints when newbie lawyers discovered negative (but factual) information was posted about them. Those newbie lawyers foolishly tried to threaten and suppress the information which further inflamed the situation and resulted in an appropriate “punch-back” by the ELI community and the ELI Defense Team. December 23, 2011 ELI Video Update

Matthew Chan & Oscar Michelen end 2011 on a positive note. They deliver good news and good cheer by providing commentary on the decision and outcome of the Getty Images & Advernet case. They also announce they will continue to work together in 2012. (44-minutes)
